The following guidelines will help define the terms of employment:

A Nannies Plus Family

ACCOMMODATIONS: Live-in nannies require room and board, a separate bedroom, and many request their own bathroom.
WEEKLY SALARY: Salaries range from $450.00-$1000.00+ per week depending on experience, age of nanny, educational background and job responsibilites. Salaries and benefit packages should be mutually agreed upon, including details of taxes, health insurance, holidays, etc., before employment commences.
WORKING HOURS: Nannies generally work 10-12 hours per day, with some variation depending on the family's needs. Additional hours should be compensated in money or time.
DAYS OFF: Nannies work 5 days a week, generally having Saturday/Sunday or Sunday/Monday off. However, some family situations require alternative days off, and this should be discussed between nanny and family.
VACATIONS: Nannies should have one to two weeks' paid vacation, at employer/employee's convenience. We recommend that the nanny's vacation be taken after her first six months of employment.
MEDICAL INSURANCE: Though some nannies may have adequate medical coverage, the majority need it. Most families contribute to this coverage. If you would like to contact us, Nannies Plus does have information on affordable health insurance for nannies through national organizations.
AIR TRANSPORTATION:
  • Phone Interview:

Families hiring a nanny over the phone are required to advance airfare to the nanny and deduct the cost of the airfare from her first two-three weeks of wages.
  • Personal Interview:
If a family conducts an in-person interview, the family is responsible for all travel costs, (air, train, or bus fares, etc.).
  • Airfare Home:
At the successful completion of a nanny's employment of one year or more, the family should pay for the nanny's return flight home.
LIGHT HOUSEKEEPING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Families having fun with Light Housekeeping
  • Laundry for children
  • Make beds for children
  • Clean up dishes after preparing meals for children
  • Care of kitchen
  • Put away toys and straighten up after children
  • Clean own bedroom and bathroom
  • Other tasks that are mutually agreed upon
GUARANTEE PERIOD: Both nannies and families have a one (1) year guarantee period. We want this placement to be successful; therefore, it is essential that nannies and families communicate at all times.
NANNIES PLUS: Nannies Plus is just a phone call away. Our office is open 10:00 am - 5:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday.
