We at Nannies Plus, feel it is important to know something about each of the key members of our experienced staff.
Lynn Socci, Director
Lynn, along with her sister Debbie Sugrue, brings a lifetime of experiences and a new dimension to Nannies Plus. Lynn
combines her professional training as an occupational therapist with knowing the rigors of raising three young children…all
under the age of ten. As an occupational therapist, Lynn spent ten years working in schools and group homes with children who
had a wide array of special needs and disabilities. During these early years, Lynn grew to appreciate the growing need for
specialized childcare providers and recognized the importance of trained personnel to help raise children with special needs.
Her professional and personal lives became intertwined when her daughter was diagnosed as developmentally delayed.
Nannies Plus has long been recognized as an innovative leader in the nanny industry. Lynn continues that
forward-thinking tradition by including a "special needs" component to the vast services Nannies Plus already offers.
She has initiated a nationwide campaign to target colleges and universities that have Special Education departments to
recruit nanny candidates with specialized degrees. Her goal is to make Nannies Plus #1 when it comes to caring for
physically and mentally challenged children in addition to maintaining it as one of the nation's premier nanny placement
agency.
It is easy to understand how Lynn's enthusiasm and fresh ideas will continue to keep Nannies Plus at the forefront of
the childcare industry.
Debbie Sugrue, Director
Along with her sister Lynn, Debbie brings a wealth of experience and energy to Nannies Plus. Debbie's background is in
business. She and her husband started and ran a successful restaurant for five years. As their reputation and fame grew, they
outgrew their first location and purchased larger quarters. Just when everything was going right, Debbie's husband suffered a
heart attack at the age of 37 and passed away. Grief-stricken, she needed to keep life in perspective in order to care for
her two small children. In time, she remarried, inherited two stepchildren, and realized that she missed the challenges of
owning and running a business.
For six years, Debbie put her managerial skills to work helping produce and facilitate focus groups, research surveys, and
market reports for a marketing research firm. Next, she gained invaluable experience working for a medical planning company.
Among her many responsibilities, Debbie was responsible for managing projects and handling client relations. She then worked
in sales and client relations for a company that produced trade show presentations. Most recently, she assisted in the
running of a non-profit education program.
Debbie and Lynn started a small restaurant service business, but knew from the beginning that their long-term goal was to
enter the childcare industry. After all, having seven children between them - one with special needs - gave them great
insights into what working and at-home parents needed. Owning and running Nannies Plus was the perfect match for them.
Debbie is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Nannies Plus. She knows how important it is for parents to feel
secure that their children are cared for by a dedicated, loving nanny. With her many years of business experience, she will
work hard to keep Nannies Plus at the forefront of the childcare industry. Learn more about Nannies Plus in books, magazines, and newspapers.
